Job Description
TaskStream is seeking an experienced technical writer and instructional designer to develop support and training materials for its web-based educational software products. This individual will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will work with cross-functional teams within the organization to develop and maintain resources for both internal and external audiences.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Maintaining and coordinating development of help documentation
Developing and maintaining internal training and communication resources
Creating self-paced tutorials and guided introductions to TaskStream’s products through the use of instructional, interactive multimedia
Designing live training programs for internal and client audiences
Assisting in the development and maintenance of training specifications, style guidelines, standards and procedural information for support and training materials
Required Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor`s degree and relevant experience in Technical Writing, Communications and Media, Information Design, Instructional Design, or other related field
Minimum 3-5 years experience in related position(s)
Demonstrated proficiency with design and multimedia authoring languages and tools, such as HTML, JavaScript, RoboHelp, Photoshop, Captivate, Flash, etc.
Formal training in instructional design, communications, cognitive science, adult learning theories and/or educational/instructional technology
Experience developing print and computer-based media (ideally educational in nature), including interactive applications
Other Requirements
Ability to learn new technologies and applications with ease
Independent, self-motivated, resourceful
Superior attention to detail and strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Flexible - able to adapt to new situations and requirements comfortably
Exceptional time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines
Ability to function effectively both independently and as the member of a team
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and editing skills
